about

"Here, Andy offers a beautifully crafted set of sound pieces using constructed/deconstructed layers of field recordings, delicate fumbling and quiet amplification of interactions with natural objects, spoken words, and tape loops..."

The delicate, yet grounding array of sounds and movement the artist presents is one that invokes a sense of nostalgic calm, a string of watery memories, a hole now filled "with things on which we may all walk."

Brute Cartography is an assemblage of lowercase works that gently occupy the space between ethereal tape music and intimate and emotional electroacoustic techniques and practices. Intensely personal then immensely spatial, dizzying then burrowing, indeterminate, blissfully fateful.
